I have beaten my head against the wall on this enough to be frustrated.  So, our group had a little meeting and I have asked them if they can come up with possible solutions.  I'll post back what we come up with, but in the meantime, I'd like some input from the community.

We'd like a good robust modelling method for rebar.  I have attached a drawing showing the complexity we are dealing with.  I'm interested in all ideas.  The crux of the problem seems to be that rebar is bent around other rebar.  So, weldments need to be dependent on other weldment profiles, which doesn't seem to be very robust to me.

I know ‌ has given me some pointers on how he does it, but I'm interested in how others would handle it, too.  So, ,‌, ‌, ‌, ,  and anyone else let's hear it.

The final result needs to include a table with rebar sizes and lengths...So, that really threw a wrench into using sketch blocks, which would have been a slick solution (unless I'm missing something).
