So i am drawing a polyline and when i press alt it lets me get the center of things and what not. but if i try any of the alt shift or ctrl i cannot get it to go along an axis or maybe normal from the part that the line is on.
so i found if you use the grid command and then make it through the two axis of the parts i want to connect with a poly line it works. you just draw the line on the plane. it has snap to it so that is quite annoying but i made the default snap dimension down to a .001.
still there has got to be a way to turn off the snap and then just move the lines to right angles of each other. it works, but its not perfect
Maybe this will help-
Select the Polyline and look in the Properties under General for Axes order. Click thru the XYZ options dropdown until you get the right orientation.
ya thanks i tried it on path lines and it worked but i couldn't get it to work on polylines
How about this-
Use Translation Mode to move the part along the axis line you need. Then create an Associative Path from Neutral on the part. Set path property to the XYZ axis you need. Then convert it to a Free Path. Use Remove Polyline Node to take it down to one line. ???
