that is the point.... i want to know haw can i turn the free-forms i produce in surfaces into sheet-metal? and then how to get the Flat-patterns..
Not every feature you created using surfacing can be tuned into sheet metal part

"thicken" is the only option but will it get you a flat pattern every time? well, you have to be lucky
There is a surface flatten feature but this is only available on Premium (I've never had Premium so can't say how well this works).
You shouldn't need to convert to sheet metal part to use this feature.

so we have to pay more for getting flattening tool. that's pretty flattering
