I updated my email address through the Customer Portal and now all my points and badges are gone!
Who can I even talk to that may be able to help fix it?
Charles Dane maybe? He's the new Community Manager. If he can't fix it he should know who can (assuming it can be fixed).
Thank you Glenn Schroeder.
Kevin Berni - is one of the moderators and will be able to direct you to the proper person.. I would guess those points will be lost forever, we'll just have to pick up the slack and send ya some of our own
Charles probably has more juice than me. I can moderate but I don't think I have privileges over people's accounts and email addresses or merging accounts.
This is one of many reasons I have chosen to link my personal email address to my account. Also all of the old accounts which are unused live on forever and confuse people who attempt to contact or reference you.
Can you still log in to the forum with your old email address? Be sure to close your browser, clear cache, and go directly to forum.solidworks.com rather than logging in through the customer portal...
Did you follow this procedure?
How do I change my name or e-mail address in the SOLIDWORKS Forums?
Are these points actually worth something?
Can I turn them in like Green Stamps for discount or free SolidWorks swag?

Careful mentioning Green Stamps, Those were popular when I was a kid and we wouldn't want people thinking you were old.
I guess points are freeze now so you don't see them until the point system is back

if you come to my user group meeting ill let you use your points for SWAG. just depends on the prize how many points it cost.
Are you based in Hawaii?

If he was there would be a lot of us wanting to visit.
Those Hawaiians know how to party (many years ago when I was in the Jaycees, we had a national convention and the Hawaiian delegates had "Bathtub Comicazi's" - there were a few hundred staggering visitors there.

And give your new self your old self's points?
Or log in with the old address and send all the points to someone else that will later send them back when the new account works. (If it ever does again - its been 3 pointless days now I think).
Derek, If this has been helpful please mark Glenn's post as correct so others searching can know what worked.
That's no. I can not. It definitely changed my email cause it kept my avatar, post content and profile info. Just dropped points and badges. I feel naked.
If it does lead me to resolution, I will.
I didn't know you could do that. Thank you. I see in my inbox you actually did give me some points. But my profile still has a big fat 0.
I was updating from an old personal email to a newer one. lol However my original account from the early 2000's to 2014 was under my old company email, and in 2014, I didn't know you could update the email address. But that's a different issue.
Oh? has this been a broader system issue other than just me?
That is the exact post I followed. I even shared that post within my organization.
Honestly, I don't care if they are worth anything. I know you may think I'm being silly caring about them. But to me, it gives me a sense of contribution.... and then there's always the Dopamine!

Every once in a while this happens - much more often with the new system.
It will often freeze all accumulation of daily points (or transfered points) for a day or two.
It is SUPPOSED to keep accumulating the points in the background and then apply them when it work again - but this has been proven many times to not be the case.
Also, if you transfer points or give badges during these times they almost always just vanish.
The points transferred our will disappear from the person sending then and the points and badges (with or without points attached) never get to the destination.
So wait until the system seems to be working again before more transfering.
