We all have the "why?" I was thinking it was time to start asking when something was going to get done. You send in an enhancement request, or ask for some kind of function, or find a bug. Well it is time to start asking when instead of why.
When will we be able to extend a center line to a note?
This is no different than "Why". You cannot get any answer to "When" any more than an answer to "Why".
Keep getting people to vote for your SPRs and they'll work their way up the to-do list.

And WHEN something rises to the top that the developers were already planning from 5 yrs back and now ready to release, it will then be prominently announced that, "See, we are listening to you."
I could ask "When do we get to model with ZTG, model in VR, use gesture control and voice commands?"
Or I could ask, "Why don't we already have these things?!"
When will SW stop reintroduce old bugs?
When can we dimension a drawing properly?
Contemplating on starting another thread.
it's a toss up between a "Has Been" & "Was"
How many times do I have to say it. DON'T ROTATE DRAWING VIEWS. THERE IS NEVER A NEED TO DO IT, IT WILL CONFUSE ANYONE COMING ALONG AFTER YOU AND WILL LEAD TO PROBLEMS.
Rotate drawing view direction is backwards?
Fixture is designed with 6 deg tilt.
With Master Sketch and SSP, lots of parts could be "off angle".
It is confusing ONLY when the software fail to align dimension to "paperspace"
You do get different results if you select the edges or vertex... Try it ya might like it
Jim Sculley - Good chance you're correct, but I often rotate views in the Drawings and I don't see those issues. I do recommend and totally agree that you should rotate and fix your views in the model, which is my first attempt, but there are times when it's easier and quicker just to rotate the component..
I did select edges.
Aligned Ordinate does work.
So this is better? Less confusing?
Natural instinct was to cock my head to see the detail

Nope. Here's the front view of a model:
Here's an unrotated drawing view of that model:
What witchcraft is this you say? Custom model view, or view relative to model. I prefer to add a view in the model. Select what you want to be the front face, CTRL-select what you want to be the top face and then select Normal To.
Hit the SPACE bar and click New View:
Name it something useful, like FOR DRAWING and click OK. Go to your drawing and add that view from the view palette:
Dimension to your heart's content with no fear or weirdness.
When are the programmers and menu makers going to try to reduce the # of clicks that it takes to complete a command?
Safety meeting after safety meeting office ergonomics says that reducing the # of clicks on the mouse to the amount that one has to type or use the old hunt and peck method is better for the users health. Seems like micro soft as forgotten about this and So has SolidWorks with all the pull-down menus in the feature manager, and the multiple page menu to print drawings, and not being able to print directly from the print preview if that is what you want to do.
that would be the great improvement for the next version they are working on. the heck with any other entrancement request other than removing the # of clicks it takes to do a command. Where the program get to learn how you use it and starts leaving boxes you unchecked all the time to being unchecked the next time you use the command, or if your always having to check them leave them checked. A click here and a click there, saves time, and can help save the health of the users.
You aren't seriously looking for voice control. There is zero way it would know what you want your sketch to look like from voice and are you really going to be yelling in the office things like "SOLIDWORKS Create Extrude", SOLIDWORKS Accept", "SOLIDWORKS Revolve".
Also mouse gestures have been around for a while now so not sure what other gestures you would want.
I thought that this was going to be asking solidworks when they were going to fix some of the stuff that we already asked for. I like the kitty dump style it has taken but......take it where it goes i guess.
Good work around.
Usually I use this when part need more then one rotation.
Only thing is, "auto start projected view" doesn't work.
"rapid dimension" doesn't work on the custom view also.
Works on projected views.

It works fine for me. SW2017 SP5 and SW2019 SP3.
Doesn't work on any view from "Isometric", when I drag it out from View Palette.
Doesn't work with create model view.
Will restart and try again.
Still doesn't work.

1) In the View Palette in the task pane (on the right side of the screen by default) 2) In the Model View PropertyManager under Options
