Linking Custom Properties and Saving as a Drawing Template

I am in SW 2019. I have made a lot of drawings without editing the title blocks. I want to link the title block fields to the corresponding part's properties, and then save this as a generic drawing template or Sheet Format, which I could then use to update the sheet format in each drawing I have previously made. I have gone to Custom Properties and added a Property Name of Material, and the Value is "SW-Material@<filename>.SLDPRT" (with the actual file name filled in). Is there a way to have the filename automatically populate the Material property value field according to the file added to the template? Otherwise, is there a better way to do this? I have also tried selecting the note box, Link to Property, and then making the appropriate choices to add the Material for the part I am using. However, I do not see a way to save this to a drawing template or Sheet Format, since it will not let me link the property without a drawing view inserted.
