I have a fuse and a disconnect which I have associated together to be the same part. Now I want them to be two separate parts. How do I do that?
Are they separate bodies?
They are individual symbols. This is in 2D Electrical.
I guess you have multi-body part - if yes, then you can use "Save body" to separate them
Lynne, just trying to understand the question, do you have 2 separate manufacturer parts assigned to one component?
This is in Solidworks Electrical 2D. I want to make the Disconnect one part number, and the Fuse another part number each with it's own Ref Des. I associated the parts together, now I can't find out how to disassociate them.
Gotcha, so just either delete one and insert again, and don't associate it to FU1 this time...or right click on a location, add component, it'll be called FU2 or something like that. Now go to the symbol, right click, go to symbol properties and click on the newly created component (FU2 in my example) you want to reassign it to.
If I understand, you have something like this:
But you want the fuse to have it's own component. Just create a new component and then right click the fuse symbol and select Assign Component to move it:
If this isn't what you want, provide a little more detail on exactly what you are trying to do.
Another option is to edit the symbol properties and change the mark. This will dissociate the symbol from the component.
