as you can see in the attached image, I have elbows and bends.
To do this I selected the option 'Prompt for selection'.
Clearly, for big routes this is not ideal.
There is a quick way to switch from elbows to bends and vice versa in some place, with 'Always use elbow' option set by default ?
Another question :
I'm creating a main route assembly which contain two sub-assembly that represent cold water and hot water.
How can I create a sub-assembly route inner the main assembly route ?
I ask this because if I insert a flange when I'm in edit mode of the main assembly, SW create an assembly route at the main level structure.
Actually I insert the flange, press esc at the 'Route properties' mask, select the CPoint and start route.
SW generate a sub-assembly with only the pipe, then i drag the flange and drop into the sub-assembly.
A better solution ?
Thanks,
As to your first question, for routes with mixed properties Prompt for Selection is the best.
As to hot-cold water routes, we separate them. Vent route, Pressure vessel inlet route, Chemical injection route. Divide them into separate pieces and MATE (Andy! We mate them) together in one piping (not route) assembly.
Everyone starts route in different manner as I noticed. I like to start it by opening new - route template. Then place it into piping assembly. This way main planes located at the route start point. When I need to revise the route later on it's easy to identify which way to make changes with minimum damage.
It's very handy when you work on interconnect piping.
For small routes the method is not crucial.
