Is it possible to rename 3D Sketch Planes?
Here is the method....
In the design window, double-click on any 3D plane in the 3D sketch.
Select ProperyManager in the sidebar.
Right Click on the plane.
If you look to your left, you should see the Planes and you can rename them there.
I do not see 3D Sketch Planes on the left. Perhaps you meant regular part/assembly planes?
Are they inside folder, another part, another assembly?
If you right click on the 3D plane, is there a rename in the menu?
Notwithstanding the verbage of the individual planes in the screenshot which reads "xxxx@3Dsketch - Joists" since that is referencing the sketch....
...those planes reside inside said 3D sketch, and do not show on the left tree.
Upload the part if you can
What happen when you edit the 3D sketch?
If the planes are in the sketch, you need to edit the sketch to edit the planes.
3D Sketches can have their own Planes inside of them, they don't appear in the tree.
And as far as I know, no you can't rename them.
But you can use them outside of the 3D Sketch as you would any other plane.
Naming a Plane in a 3D Sketch
Hey, it took Deepak a few tries.
I got it the first time.
That's a lots of hoops to jump to get it done.

I had read that thread prior to posting this question. I couldn't see the forest for the trees!!
I assumed it wasn't resolved.
However, after reading again, it was.
So simple, BUT not intuitive at at, however this is SW after-all!!
