Hey guys, how do I improve the quality of the simulation when I'm simulating my CAM operations? All of my holes show more octagon than round which makes chamfers and fillets look off.
If you open up the SOLIDWORKS CAM Options you will see a Simulation tab. SOLIDWORKS CAM Options can be found on the SW CAM toolbar in the command manager. This controls the accuracy of the simulation. Turbo mode by default is turned down for speed so it looks pretty rough by default.
The higher the quality, the more time it will take on a complex shape.
Haha, Mike you beat me to it!
I finally knew the answer! haha
Dallas, the simulation adjustments are in the options of SWCAM/CAMWorks.
Try these first to see if this helps.
If you do not get your desired results you will need to adjust in SW in the options. Move the slider up towards Less(faster).
FYI as you move into the SWCAM Professional 3 axis area or CAMWorks 3 axis and multiaxis, this "Curvature Generation" can effect tool-path on the floor. Generally I keep the curvature has high a possible when programming surfaces.
Thanks, guys. I knew it was somewhere. I just couldn't remember where. That did the trick. I appreciate the help.
