Would it be possible to build a manually-activated macro or standalone .exe that could make an SQL query/PDM report spreadsheet in Excel or at least a .csv? I haven't found anything in the API to interact with the Report Generator functionality. Plus, I am very new to SQL in general so I'm also not sure how I can look at the tables to find out exactly what data I want the query to be about. (I already have played around with some queries in the Report Generator and have some items I would like to make spreadsheet reports to give to management.)
I can explain specifics further but I'm mostly interested to learn how to interact with the SQL tables/make data reports that other people in the office can see in Excel.
