Does anyone know how to solve the error 0xc000007b when trying to start Solidworks?

Last night I downloaded and installed Solidworks 2018-2019 onto my laptop. However, when I attempted to open the program, I received an error that it could not find the filed VCRUNTIME140.dll. In order to fix this, I was advised to copy and paste the .dll file into the Windows and Windows>System32 folders on my computer. After doing this, I tried opening Solidworks and I received an error stating that the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Has anyone seen this error before? Does anyone know how to fix it?

  Thank you for your quick reply. I have a Dell Mobile Precision laptop 7530 with an NVIDIA Quadro P3200 w/ 6GB GDDR 5. I have 64GB, 4x16GB, 2666MHz DDR4 ECC memory. I have two M.2 1TB NVMe PCIe Class 50 SSD connected via RAID 0. Lastly, Intel Xeon E-2186M, Six Core Xeon 2.90GHz w/Intel HD GFX. What other information do you need?

    The specs look good as far as I can see, so I don't think that's the problem. I'm afraid I'm out of ideas, but I'm sure someone smarter than I am will be able to help. There are a lot of people here that qualify.

I would call my VAR to involve a fixer, and recommend same to you.

Also try a reboot.

  Being that Laura is using the SW2018-2019 version, that would indicate she is a student. She doesn't have a VAR. Tech support at her school may be able to help with the issue.

Did you register the DLL after copying it?
Doing it manually works only sometimes (in my own experience).

I would try to reinstall the Visual C++ redistributable.
Search in you SolidWorks installation package for
vc_redist.x64.exe
And give it a try perhaps.
