I'm looking for CSWP prep resources.
If your school offer SolidWorks' Student Licenses (referred to as Student Premium licenses replacing the previous name: Student Engineering Kits or SEK), then you have have access to CSWA and CSWP Prep courses in your
My.SolidWorks Professional Account with over 600 product tutorial videos covering a broad range of SOLIDWORKS topics, providing your students the perfect platform to build their careers. The CSWA and CSWP exam prep courses are included. This was added in 2018 for the Educational users.
The older book would still be mostly relevant.
The CSWP can be taken using SOLIDWORKS 2015 or newer - so YES that book is still relevant, but it will not contain the new features/ formats that have been added to SOLIDWORKS since 2014 - the Core items will still be relevant.
There could be a few things in the test that would use features that 2014 or before did not contain.
There are many newer books available (including never version of David Planchard's book).
I have his 2015 ~2017 book, but don't have the version you have (2014) to compare and see what has changed.
Probably if you found a video series or book (or a copy of the "Whats new in SW2015" you would see what your book is missing. If you are using SWX 2015 you can look in the What's new Section / files to find some of this.
Since you would also be taking the test using 2015 or newer, I would suggest getting a book that is at lease current with your software (or the software you will take the test with).
There were interface / Icon changes (color and icon changes made in 2016 or 17 or 18) that caused a lot of confusion and took some time for people to get used to and relearn the look of the icon to select.
Since speed is essential on the test, you wouldn't want to be loosing a lot of critical time trying to find an icon'.
