Dear SolidWorks User,
I use the Bounding Box feature to get the minimum size of a part. Is there a way to select the dashed lines and convert it to another sketch?
I use SolidWorks 2018.
Thanks for replies,
Just if someone needs to have those segments selectable, here is the macro which can do this: Create selectable 3D bounding box sketch using SOLIDWORKS API
There are few macros to get the bounding box, but most of them are in XYZ direction
Try this from Matthew Cempa

Hope this helps
What is your end need to convert the bounding box to another sketch?
You could also use the cutlist properties and just have the bounding box dimensions read out from there. If you really need another sketch you can get away with using a global variable that reads from an annotation of the bounding box, then have the sketch defined by the global dimensions.
Thanks guys for your feedback! We have already a solution, I was just wonder why it doesn't possible to touch those bounding box lines.
