Fixtures moving during deformation

Question asked by Jens Mejdahl on May 23, 2019

I'm trying to make a simulation of a carabiner with open gate being pulled in a tensile testing machine with 7,3kN as shown on the image below:I'm using a nonlinear study since the stresses will exceed the tensile stress of the material and thereby make the carabiner open up. This deflection will cause the tranverse pins to move to a new position and thereby changing the model a bit.

Is it possible to make this simulation without the transverse pins going through the carabiner, and still having the fixture moving to the right postion as the carabiner opens up?

Thank you in advance!
