Just to expand... I rolled back the model to the point where it is a simple sketch of a rounded rectangle, which is extruded with a outward draft of 2.5 degrees.
I am not able to sketch on the side panels, but I am on the top and bottom.
When I create a similar sketch on a new model, I am able to sketch on all straight sides with no problem.
Any idea what could be causing this???
Not sure what's going on here. Can you zip up the model and post it here? If the face you're trying to sketch on is not planar, then, there's no way to simply start sketching on it. How was the face you're sketching on constructed?
Thanks for the reply.
The sketch it was based on what infact not a straight line. I managed to extrude a cut onto the surface using the offset from surface extruded cut feature. Apologies for the irrelevant question... still very new to SW!
I love this as a check to see whether a face is, or isn't, planar.
Especially if it's a complex face with a complicated cut-out I prefer it be planar if I can
