How to output quantity of part into filename when using batch dwg output from assembly file

Question asked by Kenton Weaver on May 17, 2019

So I just discovered the batch output macro and I'm thrilled. Our company just started using solidworks in a big way a few years ago, and I'm learning the tools as I go. One thing I wish I could figure out is how to insert the quantity of the part to be cut into the filename. i.e. HB-SN72-2501-Default=2.dwg Its something we've been doing for our laser operator so he doesn't have to risk losing his place while nesting by looking from the paperwork to the screen to confirm quantities. We do a lot of small custom jobs. And a lot of nesting, this would help us out a lot. I'm kind of assuming that it has something to do with using the BOM to generate part numbers, but not sure how to work that into a macro. I'm a mechanical engineer, not a computer programmer.  thanks in advance!
