I have a problem, shown in the picture. This seems to happen with imported models and models with glossy surfaces. The photo shows a model that I imported as an step, and am making some modifications to. Everything works beautifully until all of a sudden I get to the point where if i try to start a sketch on any surface these weird polygon surfaces get added to the model. I can go back and delete the last feature and its ok, but when I add the next feature it starts happening again. My graphics driver is up to date. This is a very frustrating problem, is anyone able to advise on a solution here?
Run the Tools, Check command on the model to see if there are any geometry problems.
You can also try turning on Verification on Rebuild (extra body checks) and force regenerate the model (Ctrl+q) to rebuild using the extra body checks.
See these help topics:
Did you run import diagnostics when you first imported the model? It could be that there were problems with the imported model that you couldn't visually see, but downstream as you build features on top of the bad geometry, graphics problems start to show that are due to the bad geometry. If that is the case, you need to clean up the original imported body to correct the issues. See this help topic for details:
I hope this helps,
