If you want more than one version of SWX which is the safest location to install in the system to avoid conflict.
User need to make sure they're using correct version and files are at correct location.
SW will install different version at different location.
When installing newer version, don't overwrite toolbox.
Copy and upgrade to new location.
Use different folders for your files, one for each version.
Double check file location in system setting so it looking at correct version.
Always keep a backup of your files.
SW files remember where their references are located by full path.
Problem is it won't update it when folder is moved.
I use a folder for SW2018: C:\Jobs 2018
Another one for SW2019: C:\Jobs 2019
I keep templates and other files in there also.
So one folder with everything. Easy to backup and move to another computer.
Now when a folder is move/copy from 2018 to 2019, SW will open assembly without problem.
Problem is where a file is missing in the new location.
SW will look at old folder location because that's what it remember.
If it found the old file there, you'll be in trouble.
It won't say anything. Until you save the assembly. It'll say a file is old version.
If you didn't pay attention and click yes, the old file is updated.
And the assembly is referencing two folders.
