Not an API related question...
Hi Thank you Amen
I need to hide the menu only for some parts which i created through my API . So need the code for the conditional "on " "off"
I really can't think of any good reason why you would need to do that. Believe me, I thought about it long and hard! And even if you can do it, this will create a whole heap of issues down the line. It's no good to mess with the UI. Ask yourself: What am I trying to prevent the user from doing and why? And then find another way to do it.
We created family tables for the product assembly. And using our API, we are calling each configuration to the master assembly with installation features. The API interface also gives option to replace parts (basically selecting another configuration for the same assembly) and all installation features automatically updates.
While testing it was found that there is a posibility of user selecting only one part from the assembly and changing configuration through the basic solidworks menu hightlighted in O.P. To limit this, we wish to give option to replace assemblies only through our UI.
I'm certainly no expert - I've only experimented in a playful way, but could you use an event to detect when this is happening?
I see there is
You could maybe display a msg to the user and undo the action?
No doubt there's a better way but just an idea I had
Is this what you're looking for?
