i have an assembly that contains an assembly - i need to centre the second assembly between two faces
i cant seem to get a mate that does this (need the blue shown centred between the two side faces
Does a Symmetric mate work for you?
i tried this but if i select the face of the (shown blue) PCB in this case and the two side walls it gives me an overdefined error - as i assume it is trying to set it semitrically in both the horizontal and vertical plane??
It shouldn't but it's hard to tell from here..
..in my limited understanding of how it works it should be equivalent of selecting the two faces and creating a mid plane and then being coincident with that. What happens if you try to create a mid plane, does that work? Do you have any other mates applied to the PCB?
I always forget the pre-select order when adding this mate with the popup, generally do it the slow way.
ahhh that was easier than i thought
so created a midplane on both the assembly and the PCB (part)
then instead of clicking on the normal made just selected both planes in the feature tree and a popup came with the mate options.....selectec coincident and bingo it works
Would the Width mate not have solved this without the need for making additional planes?
