I'm making great progress in the program, but then I come up with little things like this.

The circle has been duplicated via CTRL+drag, then placed at the end of the construction line by selecting the circle, then grabbing it by the centerpoint, then dragging the centerpoint over to the endpoint of the line.

Great. No problem.

Then, I tried the same operation with an ellipse. I got the ellipse's centerpoint on the line's endpoint, but the ellipse distorted. It seems the lowest point on the ellipse is anchored on the page, and will not move with the rest of the ellipse. I did not assign any relations to the ellipse.

So what's the deal?
