Can someone help me understand what is going on with this attempt to use weldments? I'd like to have all of the profiles parallel.
I suspect the problem is that since you used a 3d sketch SW doesn't know how to orient the profiles. You can adjust the angles by entering in the desired value where shown below, or...
...since it looks like all the sketch elements are on the Front plane, start a new 2d sketch on the Front plane, use the Convert Entities tool to duplicate the 3d sketch in this new sketch, and then use this new sketch for your weldment feature. (If you don't mind a little unsolicited advice, never use a 3d sketch unless it absolutely needs to be a 3d sketch.)
Use 2D sketch instead.
As Glenn Schroeder posted,
The angle to adjust to is equal to the angle of the segment to its primary reference planes. I encounter this commonly with angle forms as a support gusset. If it is unaligned parallel to any primary reference planes, you can just measure the angle between wrong faces, and adjust by that much (up or down) instead.
Thanks mate - appreciate the comprehensive response.

I'm glad it helped. I try to make my responses comprehensive, although sometimes "comprehensive" is a screenshot with no text.
