I am having trouble importing a .dwg file of a blower when I do it shows it imported 3 curves but nothing show up
thank you for this did you import into rhino and then save as a rhino file then Import into solidworks?
Hello Cody,.. I imported as *.3DM and *.STEP.. both were about the same in structure, trimmed surfaces and size,.. (I honestly don't recall which one I zipped?)
In the 3DM file, the structure/hierarchy is built with Blocks (layered) and the blocked trimmed surfaces look intact but the translation is sadly unable to knit them as solids.
The best would be to export from the source program (autocad 2019? or acad look alike?)... or, there maybe a better way to get the data then how I hacked away trying..
btw,.. if you don't care about any hierarchy, the fasted way to do this is export as a parasolid from Rhino3D.. it still has the individual faces (707 faces) but it fast!
Thank you. I was able to get all the files I needed to convert over into solid works this morning. Took awhile with going through multiple programs but all done now. Thank you again for the help Paul Salvador
Hello Cody,.. I tried using a few different resources.. the ones which seem to work ok were Rhino3D and Fusiion360,... Rhino gave the best results imho...(attached)
