This is my first post in this SW forum- hope I get it right.

Started SW 2016 about 3 months ago. No prev SW experience. I can find many U tube video tutorials on "procedures" except "how to go about designing a  a machine for in-house use. I see SW is great for product design and product management but that's not what I need. Almost always my designs will have weldment(s), 10-20 ind parts, could be sheet metal, machined or just sawed bar stock. Can't make detail parts until I have considered design iterations !

How to start design? Assembly? Multi-body part? Other idea? Your routine? What ideas and advice do you offer?

Thanks

Thomas
