Today, one of SolidWorks re-sellers introduced Solidworks Composer to us. They were saying that we can use Composer to create assembly instructions, add dimensions, BOMs, so that we no longer need to provide 2D assembly drawings for production. I want to ask how good is SolidWorks Composer and can we really get rid of 2D drawings?

Does your reseller supply a computer or tablet for every machine or operator?
How much for Composer Player on each?
I'm sure they'd be happy to...

DI WU - That would be nice.... But, ask the reseller what happens when you make changes, if the sheets update automatically, then yes, it would work. The big question for you would be, Do you need Composer?? for Operators Manuals or Assembly Instructions?
Also does it reduce problem, mistakes.
Reduce time.
Increase efficiency.
Provide profit in the long run.
Or just looks good.
Depends on who you work with. I don't see drawings ever going away, at least not until after I retire. It would be really nice if you could just send everyone that is making parts for you, a 3d model and get back a perfect part that matches the model 100%. Think of all the trees I could save.
If you're looking to replace 2D drawings for production then Composer probably isn't the right tool as it's more for Technical Illustrations and publications i.e. making things look nice. MBD is the product of choice for those going "paperless"
composure is more for instruction while 2D dwg is for manufacturing
