SW 2018
I have a linear pattern that varies the spacing and number of instances dependent on equations. At the very end of my tree https://i.imgur.com/nOKRjvh.png I have a combine feature. I do this to hide some overlap in solid bodies which I had to do because of some design constraints. That way, in the drawing the overlapped bodies don't show. Not showing because of combine feature at end. Showing without combine feature
My question, is there a way/a boolean to have the Combine feature capture ALL of the bodies so i can change the equation and instance count without having to re-do the combine feature to capture the additional bodies?
Alternatively, is there a way to make the linear pattern feature, combine/merge all bodies? This would be ideal. I tried selecting features instead of bodies within the Linear Pattern feature, but it will not work correctly.
Thanks!
So I only see an option for number of instances and spacing of instances in my linear pattern feature. The other option is "up to a reference" which will not work for me.
Where are you pulling this overall length dimension from the linear pattern? Looks to be Dimension D3 of Linear Pattern 1, but where is that 100mm value entered in the linear pattern dialogue? Or are you having SW measure that overall length somehow after the fact?
EDIT: so i kind of fixed it. The long crossmembers are the ones that were multiple bodies, I just extruded them "through all" and merge. Through all allows it to update with pattern instance changes. https://i.imgur.com/3lpS5vX.png Kind of a round about way of fixing the problem. Linear Pattern ought to have a merge feature, surprised that it doesn't.
