How do I set a global variable equal to the suppression state of a component?

Question asked by John Ziealsko on Apr 17, 2019

I have a structure that needs to have the width changed depending on which of two mirrors is being supported.  Can I link a global variable to the suppression state of a part in my assembly?

The equation would look something like this:  "Structure" = IF ("Mirror_1" = "Suppressed", 5.5, 4)

SolidWorks 2016 does not like this equation.

I currently have a workaround with separate configurations and suppressed equations but the above equation would work better (or I think it would).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
