Hi Fred,
Usually an error citing “XP Compatibility Mode” is something we often see in circumstance where the compatibility mode has been activated on the installation executable files. In this case you would need to go to the root of the installation source directory and right mouse click on the “setup.exe”, then go to its ‘Properties’, and making sure that it is not in some kind of XP Compatibility Mode. You will also have to go into the ”sldim” folder and set the “sldim.exe” to not be in a compatibility mode as well. Once compatibility mode is turned off for these items the installation should proceed normally without this error.
I went home and tried it on a Win 7 machine and it required entering the serial number and it seems to be downloading their okay. Now I am back at the office and trying it on a Win10 machine and it required the serial number. It is downloading now on the win 10 machine, its odd that this win 7 machine did not prompt for the serial number and the installer kept crashing and when it did not crash it would hang up at 3% downloaded.
