I have an assembly that consists of a steel pipe with a 1 mm circumferentially gap which is internally rehabilitated with 12 layers of FRP strips. Finally, one layer of glass fiber is installed all over the pipe. We need to run the simulation with 250 psi adhesion stress between the host pipe and each layer FRP. Global Contact - no penetration with the coefficient of friction 0.25 is applied. The large problem direct sparse and h-adaptive are applied but the model stuck for 16 hours.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could take a look at the attached assembly and tell me if there is anything I could do to make it work.
