SWX 2018 SP5. This a multibody part. The view is created from a named view and selected body. For some reason the Note command is greyed out when I lock focus on the view. I have selected body views on another sheet that allowed the Note command when locked focus. Am I missing something or is this a glitch?

Are you sure that you don't have a dialog box open somewhere?
I'm pretty sure there are no open dialog boxes. I think this has something to do with it being derived from a named view.

Using your files I still can't replicate your issue:
I even changed the sheet 2 body:
Note isn't grayed out for the complete views on sheet 1 either.

Hi Kevin,
It looks like you used the standard right view. I was using the wrong terminology. I should have said saved view rather than named view. In the model I created some new views which I gave a name to. The locked focus Note issue only occurs with these saved views. Not a big deal, easy enough to workaround.

I used the view that was in the drawing on sheet 2.
I didn't add one, just locked the one that was there and didn't see the note issue.
Anyway, workarounds work...around .

The issue is definitely related to named (saved) views. When I use current model view and select bodies I am able to use Note command with locked view focus. Easy enough as a workaround.
You know....its just a thought...but when was that template that you are using originally created? And what version of Solidworks are you using?

I'm using SWX 2018 premium, sp05. I made that template a few months ago by modifying a template previously created by someone else, probably from an older version of SWX. You could be on to something.
Glad it worked out. I have been noticing that some of the most unexplained things tend to originate with old templates. Its almost an easy fall back. This is the reason that I now remake my templates from scratch every time we upgrade.
You know....its just a thought...but when was that template that you are using originally created? And what version of Solidworks are you using?
