It happened once a while. Can't select part in assembly
shutdown SW and reopen - problem is gone
Was there ever a resolution to this? I've had this happen four times in the last three days on three different assemblies. I'm working along, click on a part and nothing. Suppress/Unsuppress, hide/unhide, close assembly and open, checked filters nothing brings it back. I have to shut SW down and restart. Problem gone. I've been working on these assemblies on and off for the last 3-4 months and have not run into this issue until the last couple days.
SW 2018, SP5
Bit more information. A while ago in the "Best Tips you didn't know" discussion I learned about [CTRL][SHFT][TAB] to hide and unhide parts.
Well turns out if I [TAB] to hide a part and then [CTRL][SHFT][TAB] to unhide a part I can occasionally no longer LMB click a part. If I LMB a part it outlines the surface I'm clicking and nothing. If I then go back and rehide the part I can then again LMB and have the part highlight in the part tree and the option window pops up.
I have repeated this in a couple assemblies.
Open an assy.
[TAB] hide a part
[CTRL][SHFT][TAB] unhide the same part
No LMB click to select a part anymore.
It seems rather intermittent as to getting this fixed as well. Some times if I hide it and unhide it some other way I get my LMB back. Sometimes not. Occasionally if I use "Show hidden components" I can't click on it and unhide. Sometimes if I [CTRL][SHFT][TAB] and unhide it it temporarily unhides and then rehides itself. Sometimes if I do that 2-3 times I get my LMB back.
It's definitely buggy.
I opened a ticket with my VAR as well as repeated this issue on other systems and assemblies. The VAR was also able to repeat the same issue. However the VAR also noted that it works....if you go really slow.
So if you use [TAB][SHFT] or [CNTRL][TAB][SHFT] to unhide a part you need to wait until the part becomes solid BEFORE you release the keys. If you don't it breaks everything. I find this a bit irritating as it take a second and sometimes longer before the part becomes solid. It seems glitchy to me and certainly makes me slow down, but it's still faster than some other methods.
Thanks for all the updates !
