Move assembly driven parts to another assembly

I am wondering if there is an easy way to move an assembly driven part from one assembly to another.

We model assembly driven sheet metal for seal welded tanks. This allows us to re-gauge and re-size sheet metal that encloses a volume.

Right now the sheet metal is make in each assembly driven by planes to re-size each box.

If we took the design of one tank, and used that as a sub assembly in another tank. Added the required planes then re-associated all the the sketches to the new assembly planes, that would change the what assembly context of the parts are made.

What I don't know about Solid Works is what details are done in the background when you use the command "Create part in context of an assembly"

Are there controls that allow you to change what assembly parts are a context of?
