Is there a way to undo more than 10 actions at a time? It feels like a serious prophylactic to creativity to have trial and error be so annoying.
I'd like to increase the number of undo actions available to me, currently set to 10 - let's say, to 25, or even more. It seems silly the list tops out at 10.
As an alternative I tend to crash out of the sketch and discard all changes. or if it's more serious reload.
Does require good save discipline, but that's no bad thing
Coming from and AutoCad background, I initially thought the same, and found other qualities of SW sketching to be limiting to just figuring things out. For me, I've found its just a different way of thinking about the workflow. Rather than thinking of the sketch as comprehensive drawing of the part, limit each sketch to a limited amount of geometry to create a feature. For example, start with the most basic shape you can, extrude (or other feature) it, then add more individual sketches for various cuts, bosses, hole patterns etc to that in as simple individual sketches as possible. Try not to have too much geometry driven by a single sketch and feature. Then you can go back and suppress or change parts of the design and not have to be tied to the linear order of undo. You still need to be cognizant of parent/child relationships, but still much more more flexible than undo/redo. I admit sometimes i just need to figure it out in one 2d drawing, and i do sometimes go back to Draftsight or Auto cad LT for that.
