Are there any known issues with using imported geometry in simulations?

Hello everyone,

I am picking up a project where all of the CAD data is saved as geometry imported from STEP files.

I plan to use these imported parts and assemblies in Simulation and FLOW Sim to try to find a way to eliminate a resonance issue as well as optimize the fluid path in this product.

I was wondering if there are any known issues that may come up when using imported geometry in these types of simulations.

I am trying to decide if it will be worth the effort to go through each part using FeatureWorks (or remodeling from scratch) and each assembly to assign all the correct mates (currently everything is fixed in place).

Thanks in advance for the advice.

P.S. In total, I have about 250 parts of minimal complexity so nothing insurmountable, but still incredibly tedious.
