Is there a way you can tell when you started to work on a assy and when you stopped??
Not sure if this will work for what you want....
Here I use a macro written by Sergio Monti - see the attached.. The only thing is you need to run this macro once, when you start then it will keep compiling info in a text file....

Not to sound too flip but have you considered using the stopwatch feature on your cell phone?
This something new and sometimes we forget to fill out the sheets. I went back to and looked at a detail date and just subtracted 2 days for design time.

For that level of detail you'd have to track actual actions not just time spent thinking on how to do something (which can and usually is time well spent) - or could just as easily be time with the file open and the user drinking coffee or talking to someone else. Besides, in another thread on these forums, the designer could be building one of those horror-story models with un-editable features.

Vote for SPRs 545343 "Ability to track the amount of time spent modeling/detailing a part/assembly so I can more accurately and easily bill my clients." and 855636 "Ability to log time in a part, drawing or assembly".
You might try this program. It can track by project and as many people as you would like.
it's easy to tell when a file is open/closed but Started/Stoped is not easy as you have to track down for each feature used on the assembly until it's stop
It can be done but again, not easy
I use an old app called Working Time Tracker, where you can have all sorts of projects stored. My favorite part about this thing is that it will start and stop automatically if it sees I'm not actively using my keyboard/mouse, so if I suddenly get a phone call or take lunch or whatever, it notices and asks whether I want to track that time or discard it. I don't think the app is supported anymore, but you might find something like it with the auto-start/stop function.
