Hi Guys,
Looking for a point in the right direction if anyone can help id be grateful.
I have quite a few different products modelled in SW. The products consist of a number of different lengths of weldments sections assembled together, eg 50x50x3mm square box etc.
The problem is that the price of steel flucuates so much that i need to keep track of our costs.
Is there way that i can link an external price list of say price per metre of each steel section which would then feed into all the different products and update the cost?
This would be an amazing help to me if i could get it sorted.
Thanks for any help in advance
Regards
Eddy

Hi guys,
Had a good look but wasnt able to find any macros available, and cant figure out how to go about crreating one to to suit.
getting a bit tiresome now having to manually update each BOM when prices change.
Anyone got any ideas to save me alot of stress?
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Is this any easier than having a column for length and a column for price per metre?
The problem with weight is that different sections cost different prices. The weight is not directly related to the cost.
How do I then go about linking various BOM's with the above info to a master excel file with a list of each cost per meter?
Thanks
Emmett
