Chain simulation

I am trying to simulate the movement of a chain link. My goal is to simulate a cable carrier chain for a CNC machine. Enclosed a simple assembly to explain what happens. In this assembly a movable part contains the path for the chain. Each chain mesh is path mated with the first part. Moving the path the chain wraps along the path. The problem is that sometime some of the chain mesh suddenly invert it's direction messing up the chain.
Any idea on how to control this behaviour?
Tried to add angle limit mates, but this overdefine the assembly
SW2009 sp3.0
Thanks in advance for any contribution
