Assembly Disapears

Assembly file saves in 2008 and then loaded into 2009 appears fine - on the screen - untill it is saved in 2009. Then the assembly - on the screen - disappears.

The assembly icon is in the feature manager as well as all the parts. The parts can be opened form the Feature manager Ok but these is just no assembly on the screen anymore. It just disappeared.

I have noticed tha the file size for the assembly is considerably shorter afte te save to 2009.

SP have not helped. Am current at 3.0

Any clues as to what is going on and how to remedy?

Correct Answer
I now have my assembly back (visable).

Not exactly sure "WHY"? but here is "HOW!"

The assembly was origionally a Parasolid (X_T) and was opened (imported) and saved in SW 2008. It was also visable in SW 2008. When I upgraded to SW 2009 and then opened the file and then got the messsage it would be saved in the "new" version was when it disapeared.

So... today I opened (imported) the same Parasolid with SW 2009 (SP3.0), saved the file, and now all is well.

Can only assume that due to import as Parasolid in one version (2008) and then comversion to 2009 somehow does not work.

I dont have time to figure it all out. Maybe if any of the SW develpers are reading this they may wnat to take the time to figure it out (I presume the get paid to do that kind of stuff - I do not).

In any event this may help others who may have the same problem.
