I noticed some strange behaviour in Hole Wizard in SW 2018.
When I create a new hole feature using Hole Wizard on the BOTTOM of my part the sketch view flips.
This has caused me some issues and I thought I was just modeling stuff wrong, but then I was working on an asymmetrical part and actually saw SW flip it as I selected the bottom surface for the sketch.
This does not happen with any other surface.
I usually work on symmetrical parts so I had not really noticed this before.
Does anyone else notice this behaviour? Or is it a bug in my system?
Oh that is very interesting. I am using SW 2017 SP5.
If I create a normal sketch on the surface that is closest to the origin (namely, the bottom) and run the "Normal To" command, it orients the sketch the way I expect:
Before normally created sketch:
After creating the sketch and running "Normal to" (either the automatic setting OR the button command):
However, if I edit the positioning sketch of the hole that I placed on that same surface:
And then run the "normal To" command, the Z axis is backwards (in other words, the part has rotated 180 degrees around the y axis from the position stated above in the normal sketch):
So I would say that I can confirm this behavior
