Hi all,
I'm using Rhino for modelling and Visualize for render. Earlier it was a charm to import Rhino files into Visualize and keeping layer structures. Since upgrading both Visualize to 2018 (soon to be 2019) and Rhino 5 to version 6, I'm having trouble getting my files and layers into Visualize. I know Visualize 2018 does not support Rhino 6, but even Rhino 5 files are creating problems.
Question:
Will Visualize 2019 support Rhino 6 files? if not, what are the best file export format from Rhino to Visualize and with what settings Appearence/layers, Automatic...etc?
Will live Re-import model files only work with Solidworks files?
T
Hi Thomas ,
I am not sure if there are plans to support newer versions of Rhino but I would think (as Visualize is a SOLIDWORKS Offering) it's not super high on their priority list , that being said it looks like Rhino 5 can export a ton of formats , top of the list to try would probably be OBJ and FBX.
if those formats do not give you desirable results, which I think they will, you can use STEP, IGES or VRML.
I have not tested the CAD update re-import with any other file-type but most open CAD formats are not able to work with it as the face ID are generally randomized.
