Hello,
How do I rotate an imported geometry such as an IGES file?
It is the only output format supported by our CMM other than PC-DIMS and DXF.
The imported geometry normal to the Z and Y axis but needs to be rotated about the X axis. (See attached file)
Currently it is in the imported state. If I dissolve the file it turns into 37 3d sketches and 52 surface bodies.
I usually use import as reference for SSP/Master Sketch.
So I'll start a new part in the assembly as the Master Sketch and 'convert' from the import.
Hence I usually don't care where the import is located, usually don't even know.
The fixture need to be where it need to be on the part and the machine.
I can't say: You have to machine it right side up!
If the import need to assemble to something else, more reason to put it in an assembly.
As in designing a cabinet with LCD, keyboard, card reader etc.
