I have a confusion over converting this scientific notation into real world figure. What I know is 1.5e3 = 1,500. Zero comes before 8 (08) confuse me. I assume:
1e+11N/m^2 = 10^11
2.39689e+08N/m^2 = 2.3968 x 10^8
Who gives a fudgesicle?
Some systems like to reserve 2 digits for the exponent. There is the expectation that 3 will never be necessary in terrestrial analysis.
What is the reason zero before 8 and no zero before 11?
Just like trailing Zeros.

10e+11 (oops, 1x10^11, my mistake)

He didn't write 10e11. He wrote 10^11. Which is correct.
