Hello, i have cylinder part with some slots. How could i draw those slot on cylinder surface? I tried with wrap, but then i have problems how to make drawing, becouse then i cant put any dimensions on those slots.
Hello Viktoras,.. you could do a Solid Sweep.. that is, use a Pin (with clearance) is the cutter around the helix. (image/file)
Start with a partial Helix and use the Sweep Cut Feature and add fillets on each end, then you could pattern them...
Sheet metal part: preflattened blah blah blah
and then you can dimension the flat pattern configuration on the drawing.

You're original question was how to present this onto a drawing. Just add the file to a drawing and use the flattened pattern to define the slot on flat surface.
you're correct, he did ask about drawing/dimensioning this as well,.. it could be as a flattened or as a start/end/pitch/height callout?
..example... but, using a Wrap (not solid sweep) .. and using the Wrap Sketch for Flat in the drawing. (image/file attached)
Could you attach this file?. Never used helix feature.
..it is/was.. you maybe reading this in a email... to access the file, you need to sign into the forum.

I copied this picture from desktop and tried to past it in graphic area of SWX but it did not come.
