im searching for any easier way to make core and cavity split.
Right now i'm using following tools:
-split line and parting line
-then ruled/planar/boundary surface and fill option to make a surface around part.
Some of you prefer using "Assembly method" , unfortunately i can't find any complex example made in this method. Can someone post solidworks files made using this method?
I've attached the part what i have to split.
I've already done it using surface modeling method. I would like to check your methods to see which workflow is most efficient in my company.
This is not all that complex an example ,but it does show the workings of the method. It also has a file "PlasticPartRev1" which you can use as a replacement for "PlasticPart" to illustrate changing out the part when customer might send new rev. Right click the "PlasticPart and select Replace components. In the dialog browse to the "PlasticPartRev1" file and select it. Make sure match name is selected. The core will have a warning. Open the core part, select the surfaces shown below and choose Insert, Face, Move, Select "Offset" and enter a distance that brings the faces out beyond the edge of the part .700 should do, then accept. Choose the under side face of the over hang and start a new sketch. Convert the face and extrude cut to the PL. Close the core saving and the warning should be gone in the assembly and all components should be updated to make the new version.
I'll take a look at the file you posted, but in this instance the way your doing it might be just as good as doing it as described above.
