I want to change the orientation of this sketch ( anticlockwise 90 degrees). How can I do that without losing the relations and distance constraints.
Depending on what you are really trying to do, another option is:
Inside the sketch, choose Tools....Sketch Tools.....Modify
Then use the right mouse button to rotate.
2017 SOLIDWORKS Help - Modify Sketch Dialog Box
In your sketch, select rotate entities from the Move Entities pull down.
Check the Keep Relations Box and then select what you want to rotate and the point to rotate about.
Carrie is correct, but you'll probably have to remove a bunch of vertical and horizontal constraints and any parallel or perpendiculars referencing objects external to the sketch.
Thanks Carrie, do I need to only remove vertical, horizontal and parallel constrains ? I beleive I should keep the dimensions (length, height and angles)?
I tried this with a rectangle. I didn't remove any of the constraints and the whole thing rotated with no problem.
Lemme try it today, my work starts in 2 hrz
Mine finish in 2
Once you make the model, you can rotate it which ever way you need in the drawing.
