I have created a circular pattern and these lines appear. How to I keep that from happening?
You can extrude a circular surface and use it with the Replace Face command. Turning off the display of the edges still means the edges are there, and the faces are broken up. Using Replace Face, or using extrude instead of loft will prevent the edges from being created in the first place.
Those edges are there because you used a loft. If the cam surface were a surface feature, you could do a cut up to the surface, and the arc would create a real cylindrical surface, so the pattern faces would merge. Lofts and extrudes make faces differently, and SW can't merge some lofted surfaces.
it's good trick !
Looks like the loft didn't cut a circle:
I was surprised there was no ZTG error.
The center is cut with 1.0 circle.
Extrude boos with 1.01 circle:
Make the loft cut inside d1.0, ie d0.9"
Extrude d1.0 circle to 'cover it up'.
I choose a different workflow where there are no tangent lines:
