SW 2016 SP5 (with PDM Pro)

We are seeing in multiple assembly drawings that depending upon the user who opens a drawing, some BOM items that have configuration the part number does not populate correctly, instead it shows "Default". These leads me to believe that the issue is with an Option that is set for the user. BUT, I have no idea which it might be. Any suggestions or other places to look?
