I opened an assembly in LDR mode, in SW 2019. Some components have the * character attached to their name in the feature tree. What does that mean?

Alin,
I asked my VAR when i first saw/found it....this was their response.
"The following is the explanation regarding the asterisk in the feature tree of Large Design Review.
Standard mates are supported in Large Design Review (i.e. Coincident, Tangent, Parallel, Distance, etc) but some of the Advanced mates will not be available. Non-supported mates that already exist will show as temporarily fixed. You cannot edit the mate and it will keep the component fixed in place. The Mate icon will show a temporarily fixed symbol and the component in the tree will show (f)*. You can delete these mates which will allow the component to move (provided you remove all temporary fixed mates)."
Cheers

BTW, please be aware that many of the advanced mates work well in LDR mode. SW will update the documentation in this regard.
