Any way to get my list to show here? I created a vendor list and it works correctly in the custom properties pane for a part, but will not show me my pull-down list when I use my template on a configured part.

No, the Property Tab Builder (PTB) list will not show up there as a drop down...
I believe the point of the PTB is to have an alternate interface to enter custom property data.
So you do not have to enter data into the Custom/Configuration Specific tabs of the Summary Information window.
Select "Show on Configuration Specific Tab" in the PTB for the appropriate properties.
Select the correct configuration in the model.
Then select the correct vendor/value in the Custom Properties task pane and apply it.
Repeat as necessary for each configuration.
Check the data in the Summary Info window or the Modify Configurations window.
What version are you on??
What you're showing is not Custom Property Tab Builder...
I am in 2018 SP5.0
Correct. I built my list with the custom property tab builder and it works here:
I want to leave it blank there in configured parts and populate it, per configuration, in the configuration specific tab here:
I can make the Property show up in the left column, but the drop down in the list for value/text expression will not display my vendor list.
Is there a way to accomplish what I am trying to?
Anyone? No other takers? Is Administration the incorrect area of the forum for this? Suggestions?
Mike Thompson - You should be in the right area in the forum, you could add General - I haven't taken the time to work on your issue, I feel like a one Armed Paper Hanger, with my Arm Pits infested with the fleas of a 1,000 Camels....

I hope you've got some salve for that!
I think no-one has an easy answer for you. I know you can set properties to be configuration specific in the custom property tab builder, but I have not played much with changing them there. I would think you would have to make your changes in the custom property tab builder to use the list you made there. If you are making changes to the properties using File, Properties, it doesn't matter what you have set up in the property tab builder.
Type "configuration" into PTB's help and it will show you how to make your props config specific.
I have done this, Kevin, and it does put the line into config specific, now, but the pull-down list is still absent. A bug, perhaps?
I've looked into this. The .TXT document named "values" in your Program files/solidworks directory seems to have everything used in the "Value / Text Expressions" pull down, but I tried to make a custom entry "Mike T" and it did not show up.Might be Syntax sensitive (like no spaces), Might be a place to look into. select your solidworks directory and search "values.txt"
Edit: As always back up and save before modifying system files

What I think you're looking to do isn't possible.
A list in PTB is just that, a list.
It's not a property. It's a list o' stuff that populates a property to restricted set of values.
The dropdown list in the custom props dialog references internal data or other properties.
Since your PTB list isn't a prop, I don't believe it will show up here.
The data type dropdown doesn't list PTB list either.
Also, but using the custom props dialog despite having built a PTB list kinda bypasses the intent and power of PTB to keep data managed.
I understand you're looking to have the list in props dialog, even if it was possible, Joe and Jane Smasher could still wreck things.
Although it's always exposed, I think your best avenue to educate all on the bennies and rationale for using PTB instead of custom props.
We use PTB for the "regular" stuff, but everyone can still add a custom prop when the situation warrants it (but they can't smash the regular props). Today, we've had no issues.
I hope this helps.
You are correct, Sarah! I was looking at this wrong, a little bit. I now see that if I edit the properties via the CTB pane activated for each specific config, it populates only that config. I was confused because I had started out with this property pushing to the Custom props tab.
Good enough, all. Thanks for the help!!!
